DANIEL G. KALBAC, M.D. |
Education:
Dr. Daniel G. Kalbac obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami
in 1981 as well as his Medical Degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine,
Miami, Florida 1986. He completed a rotating general surgeon internship and his five years
of orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles
County Medical Center. He completed both a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Santa Monica
Orthopaedic Hospital and a fellowship in fractures of the acetabulum and pelvis with Dr.
Joel Matta at Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles.
Certifications:
He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and is a diplomate of the American
Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1994.

He has lectured extensively with regards to sports injuries from the shoulder to the
knees, including cartilage injuries, ligament reconstruction, total knee and hip
replacement.
He is one of the U.S. National Soccer Team physicians. He has traveled extensively with
the World Cup Soccer Team, Olympic Soccer Team and the Under 20 team, Under 18 men's team
and the Under 20 women's team. He serves as the physician for the Lipton Erickson Tennis
International Tournament, Miami, Florida. Doral Ryder Golf Tournament of Miami, the Umbro
Select College All-Stars, women's professional beach volleyball associations, Florida
Hammerheads professional roller hockey team.
He is currently the head team physician for Gulliver Academy and Coral Gables High School.
He is the physician for the Hoop it Up basketball tournaments and the Air It Up football
tournaments as well as the YMCA youth baseball and soccer coach.
He was voted one of the best physicians in South Florida in 1997 and 1998.
